My Apartment AC hasn’t worked since moving in and summer is coming. What should I do? Currently 83° in my apartment.

So I moved into my new apartment at the beginning of March, and since then my AC has not been working. My apartment doesn’t go below 80 degrees it’s currently 83, and the highest it’s been is 85. I keep calling maintenance to get it fixed, and they keep putting in work orders. They come, but the problem still isn’t solved. I called them yesterday because the AC was leaking, and they did come in. They let out water or air, and the guy said it would start getting cooler, but it has only been getting hotter. I don’t know what to do. Summer is approaching, and I sleep every night drenched in sweat. I have to sleep without blankets because of how hot my apartment is. I’m worried that it’s never going to get fixed. I keep calling and complaining, they send people over, they say it should start working now, and then nothing actually gets fixed. I’m so exhausted. What do I do? I can’t afford to pay 3x my rent to get out of my lease.

Came back from work with something leaking out of my heater/ air conditioner. Have no idea what this is

I literally know nothing about air conditioners or heaters. I’m a 21 year old girl who just moved out of her parents house, and I don’t even know if this is the right sub to post this on. I came back from work, and my apartment had this weird strong smell. I looked on the floor, and there was brown liquid leaking from my heater/air conditioner. The second slide shows the brand name of the unit. Does anyone know what this could be? Is it dangerous, and should I call maintenance?
