I am so pissed and want to see if anyone has encountered this situation.

  1. We have scheduled an appointment for 1st week of May, the application, form, appointment etc. was reviewed multiple times by various VFS agents in the last 3 weeks.

  2. 6 days before the appointment we get a call from a "Manager" stating the applicants name does not match the name on the gmail profile. Now, keep in mind this is a 15 year old gmail account and when it was created the applicant used their nick name. But, that was an easy fix, the applicant went in the gmail profile and changed the name to match the name on the passport.

  3. Now VFS moved the goal post, they now say the email handle should include applicant's name. This is the most absurd thing ive heard, people have all kinds of email addresses and email is not used to validate someone's identify. How is not having the applicant first name int he email handle an automatic disqualification?

  4. They then went ahead and sent an email alleging that the appointment was booked through a travel agent which is a blatant lie. Their email said "we have confirmed this was booked by a travel agent" - I want to see that confirmation and who is the travel agent because we never used one. They are straight up liars.

Their solution is now to create a new email address, book a new appointment and submit the documents. The issue now is we don't have appointments for 3-4 months (this is what VFS help desk told us this morning)

We waited over a month for the scheduled appointment, there were multiple reviews done and now 3 days before the submission VFS decides to not honor the appointment because the Manager does not like the email address.

I am completely blown away with how an email address is the reason for the middleman like VFS to not accept the documents. The consulates have given them so much power and there are no checks and balances to review issues like these. We spent months on the documentation, bookings, itinerary and while i understand the final decision lies with the office, however, not allowing the documents to be submitted is crazy.
