Compost isn’t getting hot
Hi all,
I’ve had this compost pile started about 8 months ago. I had a mixture of greens and browns but I wasn’t really flipping it and it froze solid during the winter time. I’ve been turning it now about 2-3 times a month, peeing in it when I can, and added the drilled out drain pipe for aeration to no avail. It’s at ambient temperature and I’d really like to cook this thing asap to use this summer in the garden. There were lots of fruits and vegetables amongst other things which seem to have broken down quite a bit. I noticed a bunch of seedlings peaking through and would like to avoid that in the finished compost/speed things up. Will take any advice, thank you! Total compost newbie.
