Vyvanse working again after stopping Abilify
So, my Vyvanse since I got put on it again, 60 mg dose, hasnt worked for me this time even though I get brand name, I thought something was wrong with me or it was the Vyvanse just not being made right anymore(in 2016 I took them and they worked great) so I would just take my dose everyday and just lived with the fact they didn't work. I'm 39f. My mom got sick and I missed a couple months of my abilify injections(largest dose for schizophrenia), and I went through the abilify withdrawals which were bawling(crying) all day, racing thoughts, couldn't focus, high anxiety.
The withdrawals slowed down and stopped and I took my Vyvanse yesterday and BOOM all of a sudden it was working like it used to and I also then realized today I wasn't majorly depressed anymore, abilify ruined my life and made me a zombie with a flat affect and loss of interest in life or being able to take care of myself. For more than FIVE years! I was missing from myself!
I never had energy and now I wake up with natural energy + the Vyvanse energy after I take it and I feel like I've come back to life!
Not just because the Vyvanse works but because I feel like me again, I naturally feel in a good mood and am able to help my mom tremendously more than before, she had lung cancer and had one whole lung taken out and is now recovering. I'm now going to talk to my psychiatrist about using something different for my schizophrenia thay won't block this med from working or creating a complete hell out of my life!
I can now start my life the way I've wanted it to be without the debilitating side effects of abilify! I can get my GED! I can do about anything! And I had no idea i was that way because of the abilify, I thought(and docs and therapists) thay it was just the way life was going to be! I just wanted to share in case anyone out there could be experiencing the same thing and not know why their Vyvanse doesn't work! Stupid medications can block it from working completely!
