Get in here

I’m gn try to make a long story short . A route went up for bid online(8/7-8/16) . It wasn’t posted in the office only on bidding. A carrier saw it bid and won. Can they put the bid back up bc it wasn’t posted in the office?

Bidding

I bid on a route in my office . Once it closes on 8/16 is there a way to see if I won or not ? Kinda nervous about how it’s going to go . I have an overburdened route in a nice neighborhood so I have a positive Outlook either way but It doesn’t make me any less nervous.

Uniform allowance confusion

So my anniversary date is 6/30. I only spend a little over hundred dollars of my allotment from 2025 thinking it would roll over . I called citi bank to check my bal and it said 559. Immediately I prompted a live agent bc HOW? They told me to call hrssc and I did . She basically said not everyone is eligible for a roll over . Df u mean? She said my allotment was forfeited 🤬. Has anyone ran into this problem . I was planning on buying me a 200$ coat for winter 😤😤. I was saving my money bc I’m on a weight loss journey and I didn’t want to end up w uniforms I could wear. Now I’m afraid I’ve lost over 300$ for nothing.

Payroll mistake

Carrier has been out since oct 2025 due to a wreck . Carrier is out on owcp. I can’t say that the mistake to pay the carrier 40al and holiday pay was intentional but it is a huge mistake. Carrier has already been paid the full amount for owcp so the money dispersed by the office will unfortunately have to be paid back. The carrier now wants to know is there a grievance that can be filed for the mistake against management and is there anyway to retrieve the annual back since it wasn’t the carriers fault ?

Rant/Need Insight

Typically I mind my route ,do my time and go home. I don’t dwell in office drama or care to know the latest gossip . However, this new trend pattern has me intrigued to get advice from my fellow carriers who may have experienced something similar. My office is short staffed. We have three ccas and all or some go home before 10hrs. Ss says if we say we refuse to do the pivot that is failure to follow instructions. Yet when we are approached to help and we abide the ss says a grievance can’t be filed because regulars are volunteering when they agree to the instructions. What should the language be so it’s understood that we aren’t volunteering and that a grievance will be filed when the situation arises?

Pm

Can a carrier take a test and skip being a supervisor and become a post master ? Is it customary? A colleague of mine got hurt 7yr ago she’s never carried since I started . She job shadowed our post master for a month or so, took other offsite training classes and now she’s a post master over a small country office. Her office might have 5 routes altogether 2 city and 3 rural . Is it possible for anyone to take this path or would you say this was a special circumstance? She’s never been 204b. She was injured and she would case routes and sort ubbm. Later she became the mpoo secretary unofficially and that lasted until she became a post master.

Workmans comp

If a carrier is injured and out on Workmans comp during the time of negotiations. Would they be eligible for back pay while out? I know it might seem like a dumb question but no one teaches new carriers anything. We have to ask questions once the situations arise.

Holiday rollback

So my co workers off day is Monday which is the holiday. It’s three people long weekend this weekend 22,23. One of them requested Tues 26th off so that person can’t be mandated. In the past ,only the people whose long weekend would be mandated if the office was short. My office is said to be down 8 routes out of 16 on sat 23 . So two people w the long weekend are being mandated to work. Is it true that the carriers whose holiday is Sat May 23 can be mandated to work. In the past we were told no now the union is saying different. Please enlighten. Tia
