Based in Northern Ireland.
The attack was partially racially-motivated as my wife is Asian, but it was also combined with general anti-social behaviour.
We got assaulted by a gang of men in a rural area.
Police were unable to locate them due to a lack of CCTV. The case was then closed.
I decided to take it upon myself to investigate. I paid local multiple local newspapers to run articles that I suspected would bait these people out.
After a week, sure enough, one of the fellas made comments on the Facebook post raging about the subject. This got me his real name and his photo and the names of his friends who were with him during the attack. I recognised him instantly due to a unique facial feature (think something like a scar or birth mark.)
I then pretended to be a woman on Facebook, added him as a friend, and got photos of him and his friends doing the activity they were going on the same day we were assaulted.
That was 2 weeks ago.
I have called police 6 times since then trying to submit my evidence. I keep getting told that an officer will call me. No one ever does.
Is there any way I can privately go after this guy myself in court?
He is connected to a paramilitary family in Northern Ireland, and at least 2 other men he was with openly admit to being members of this organisation on Facebook, but my wife and I don't give a shit. We're both happy to take the risk to bring the ringleader and his boys down.
