Hi all,

I’m dealing with a staircase in a two storey 90’s built townhouse in NSW.

A handful of the stairs half way up the staircase have started to give way, feeling very soft and sinking in as you step on them. Giving the feeling that you’re going to fall through almost.

I’ve had a look at the underside as it’s accessible, and you can see from the attached photo that they’re coming loose/ out of alignment?

Is an issue such as this covered under strata for repair? Or is it the lot owners responsibility?

Given the potential safety issue with the staircase, would this be considered a structural element and fall under strata responsibility?
