Hello, I'm planning my holiday around central Asia, I'll have ~3 weeks around the area. End of June, early July. I'll be arriving in Almaty, then traveling to Bishkek/lake region but for the second half of my trip I'm wanting to see Uzbekistan/Tajikistan. Dushanbe doesn't have many flights direct to it. But Tashkent seems like to have daily flights (From Bishkek) and way easier to get back home (Australia). I speak zero Russian.
I'm wanting to do Tashkent to Dushanbe (via Samarkland and Panjakent). Then ideally over to Khiva (better than Bukhara/Nucus?), then back to Tashkent. I've read there are overnight trains and high speed rail, but not clear if these are actually operating).
I love history, would really like to see some nature/camp in this second half too.
Appreciate any responses.
