Project car that we've been working on for a while now. We were idiots and didn't label our connectors when disconnecting to take off air intake manifold.
We did the most "logical" connections and sent it (stupid). Got a choking idle before sputtering out, we assumed that it was the crankshaft timing sensor. We assume it must be a connection we messed up here.
With AIM off, these are the connectors we have:
1 - 2 prong female embedded at the end of the fuel rail wiring container, green and brown/white
2 - 2 prong female ~4 inch dongle at the end of the fuel rail wiring container, red/white and brown/white
3 - 2 prong male off the vanos, blue/green, purple(?)
4 - 3 prong female that comes from the main wiring harness at the rear of the engine, black and red/white and brown
5 - 3 prong female from main wiring harness, yellow and black and brown
6 - 2 prong male, T's off of 7 and connects to a connector at the back of the engine (near starter motor, probably the crankshaft sensor in question?), red(maybe red/white, unclear from hole in harness) and purple/green
7 - 2 prong female, see 6, red/white and purple green, was plugged into 2 prong male on the underside of AIM
8 (not pictured) 3 prong female from main wiring harness, quite short, yellow and red/white and green/white, was plugged into idle control valve 3 prong male connector on underside of AIM
9 (not pictured) broken 3 prong connector (very very short) that comes off of 6/7 wire harness (we believe a diagnostic connector, was not connected to anything when first working on car)
If anyone can help us match these connectors, please let me know.
For reference, I believe our connections were as follow when we tried, and failed, to start car:
2 -> 3
1 -> 6
7 -> AIM
8-> ICV
4 disconnected
5 disconnected
We believe at least one of these was to the SAP, which we deleted.
Any help would be amazing!
