Applying for J1 visa. Interview scheduled for May 6 in Hyderabad. Have currently opted for pickup at Chennai VAC. Planning to travel on May 26. Can I get my passport back comfortably or should I opt for premium delivery?

I have read that it would usually take between 3 days to 1 week for the visa to be issued. But I am unsure how long it would take for cross-city transfers? Would they dispatch them in batches regularly or stock them for few days? Any help in this matter would be very valuable. Thank you!
