Hi everyone, I’ve been diagnosed with a small sliding HH in November last year, and I’ve got one main symptom. I get random, excruciatingly painful “attacks” and I wonder if anyone else has this?

They usually happen when I’m really stressed, did some strenuous exercise during the day, or ate something unhealthy.

They start with pain below my rib cage, it feels like a stabbing pain and gets worse quickly, eventually it spreads to my back, so it feels like someone is “strangling” my abdomen right under my ribcage.

The pain is so bad, I often end up calling an ambulance (I live in the EU with social medical care). It feels like I can’t breathe and I might pass out from the pain.

Then it gets better and eventually it passes on its own, usually these episodes last 2hrs.

PPIs don’t help. Honestly nothing really helps. One of the paramedics told me my diaphragm cramps around my stomach when it slides up and that’s why it’s so painful. They told me to take a Xanax and a muscle relaxant 💀

My gastroenterologist is looking into options because this fcking hernia is so small it didn’t even show up on my CT scan, and barely in my endoscopy. My blood tests are perfect - no liver, pancreas, gallbladder or any other organ BS.

Wtf is happening to me? After these “episodes” pass, it’s like nothing ever happened. But now they’re happening once a month. And the pain is UNBEARABLE.
