Built a running app as a solo dev — most of it's free, and I'd love feedback from people who actually run

Hey everyone! For the past year I've been building Kamee Fitness, and it recently went live on both app stores. The screenshot is the home screen — the turtle is Kamy, our mascot. The whole idea behind the app is strong and steady wins the race: training you can actually stick with, instead of a plan that burns you out by week two.

What's in it (most of it free):

  • GPS run tracking with live pace and splits (km or miles)
  • Ready-made running plans from beginner up to longer distances, with a schedule calendar that adapts when life gets in the way
  • Distance PRs, badges, and streaks so progress feels visible
  • Clubs, buddies, and community events/races if you like running with people
  • Weather right on the home screen so you know what you're stepping into
  • Strength and guided workouts too, if you cross-train

I'm one person building this, so honest feedback — good or brutal — directly shapes what I build next. If anything feels confusing, ugly, or broken, I genuinely want to hear it.

And as a thank-you for helping me test: if you try it and DM me the username you signed up with, I'll switch on premium (custom plans + advanced stats) for you, free.

(Or just search "Kamee Fitness" if you don't trust links from strangers — fair.)

I built Kamee Fitness — an all-in-one run tracker + workout app (with a turtle coach). Just launched free on iOS & Android.

Hey r/SideProject — solo dev here. I just launched Kamee Fitness after a long build and a closed beta with testers from Reddit.

Why I built it: I was juggling one app for runs, one for lifting, and a notes app for my plan. So I put it all in one place:

  • GPS run/walk tracking with a live route map, pace and splits
  • Guided workouts, or free-form logging if you just want to track sets
  • 100+ training plans matched to your level, goals and equipment
  • An on-device coach you can ask "train or rest today?", plus streaks and stats

There's also a turtle mascot named Kamy who coaches you — I bet on a bit of personality to make it feel less clinical than the big fitness apps.

Free to start (optional premium removes ads and adds custom plans + advanced stats). Live on both stores:

Built with React Native + Expo + Supabase. Happy to talk shop, and I'd genuinely love feedback on what feels off or missing.

[Android] My fitness app's closed test is finally live — need a few testers to help me launch (join links inside, happy to test back)

Hey everyone,

I'm a solo dev, and after way too many late nights, Kamee Fitness is finally in closed testing on Android. I just need a few more testers to hit Google's 12-tester requirement so I can launch.

What it is: a workout + outdoor run/walk tracker — personalized plans, GPS route tracking, training buddies you can see on the map, Bluetooth heart-rate, and a little turtle coach named Kamy. Free, no catch, no spam.

To join (you'll need an Android phone):

  1. Join this group with the Gmail on your phone's Play Store:https://groups.google.com/g/kamee-fitness-testers
  2. Then open this, tap "Become a tester," and install:https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.kamee.fitness
  3. To Install the app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kamee.fitness

Keep it installed and poke around over the next couple of weeks — that's all I need.

Happy to return the favor: drop your app or test below and I'll join yours too. We're all chasing the same 12 strangers, so let's get each other across the line. Thanks a ton!

[Android] Solo dev here — built a fitness app to get myself moving again, looking for a few kind testers to help me launch

Hey everyone,

I'm a solo developer, and Kamee Fitness is the thing I've been pouring my spare time into for a while now. It started as "let me see if I can actually build a real fitness app" and slowly grew into something I'm genuinely proud of — personalized workout plans, GPS run/walk tracking with route maps, training buddies you can see on the map, Bluetooth heart-rate support, and a little turtle coach named Kamy so it doesn't feel like a spreadsheet yelling at you.

I've already gotten it shipped on iOS. Now I'm at the last hurdle for Android, and it's a rough one for small devs: Google won't let me publish until 12 people run a closed test for 14 days. I'm at 6 kind humans so far — just need a handful more to get over the line.

If you're on Android (8+) and feeling generous, drop the Gmail you use on your Play Store in a comment — that's how Google adds you to the test. I'll reply with the install link, then you just open it now and then over the next couple of weeks. Free, no catch, no spam.

And I'd love to return the favor — link your app or test below and I'll join yours too. We're all chasing the same 12 strangers, so let's get each other across the line.

Thanks a ton. Communities like this are kind of the whole reason solo devs make it.
