My father runs a small pharmacy shop. A drug officer came to the shop while my father was out having lunch. He waited a few minutes, gave me his number, and told me to ask my father to call him.

Later my father called him, and the officer told him to come to his office. My father got worried and asked another pharmacy owner nearby about it. That guy casually said something like, “Just give him ₹2000, maybe some snacks and cold drink, and it’ll be fine.”

What’s sad is that we actually keep everything proper. All licenses are valid, records are maintained, everything is according to the drug license requirements. Still, this kind of indirect pressure happens.

It honestly feels bad when people trying to run things legally still have to deal with this. And my father is ok to pay the bribe.
