Upstate Strains the good the bad and the ugly …

Would be grateful if people could comment with upstate strains they’ve tried and were good enough to get again and ones to absolutely avoid. Seems there’s a vast disparity between the quality of their products so would be good to know as they have some well-priced.

Green Karat - King Sherb

Have had this about a week now and with most the medical strains I’ve had thus far it came a little muted out the bag but honestly one of the most beautiful / well grown strains I’ve seen in my life.

Smells sweet but even after a week in a jar with a boveda there’s no stand out terp punching me in nose. Upon grinding the sweetness is released and hits a bit more volatile and some almost citrusy limey notes are there to my nose anyway.

Effects/taste update -

Vaping another bowl now in the solo and the flavour is coming through really strong can see why it’s been called king sherb as leaves that super sweetness lingering in your mouth a long time after vaping. A little goes a long way and get generous clouds. An xl bowl in the solo was still giving off Vapor after about 25 mins in session mode.

Enjoyed the feeling was nice and relaxing without having any couch-lock/sedated feeling you can get with some indica dominant strains for me. Still had plenty of energy and went out and about without feeling too tired. May be on the stronger side in the day for some with lower tolerances as relatively high THC % I think it’s 27%. For me if I’m not too tired and feel fresh it’s a great day time strain if I don’t have to think too hard.

Would definitely get again. Also enjoying their modified gas and loud cake which will probably review too at some point.

One other thing I’d add although the effects weren’t too Ko which is good for me did feel nicely medicated for 6/7 hours after an xl stem session on the solo

Flower Recommendations & IR Breakdown Request

Hi all,

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read and get back.

Got meeting with dr tomorrow to get first prescription from Montu via Alternaleaf and I’ve been looking at flower options. I’m aware many patients don’t get to choose strains on first prescription but I’m a long term bm user and will be pushing to get what I want and want to be prepared if I can.

So I would like to ask flower recommendations for a heavy leaning sativa hybrid or full sativa, the same for an indica and also a down the middle hybrid.

I care very much about flavour and terpene preservation which leads me onto asking about the whole irradiation thing. From what I’ve read on here some IR flower can be better than non IR flower and seems like it’s a bit of a minefield. Can anyone offer any guidance on how to ascertain if certain brands are better than others for this?

Finally I would be very grateful for some recommendations based on the above and many thanks for taking the time to read/reply.
