Hi, I am a new Salamander owner. I got a tiger Salamander about a week ago. When I got it, the distributor said I would need waterproof tape to line the vivarium to avoid moisture from escaping too easy. The past week I had the Salamander in the vivarium with no tape, and he has been fairly OK as I've kept track of moisture. But the tape just arrived today. I just installed it on the lower end, so the moisture in the substrate doesn't affect the vivariums edges. But I'm very concerned about the chemical smell from the tape, what precautions should I take to make sure I don't poison my Salamander? Should I allow the tape to sit for a while? Do something else?
