Been a permie with big UK bank for 14 years as a program manager. Started contract with another bank recently. Currently leading a large multi £, multi year transformation initiative with a discovery/ refinement phase which will go on for another 2 months or so. As part of discovery, need product lead to act on certain things/ complete certain docs so that we (as a team) get further clarity on certain tasks and milestones. And, all of these details will feed into the overall program and implementation plan. Issue is that product person keeps making excuses/ delays their part of discovery & refinement blaming me for not having detailed plan. I have explained that the discovery and refinement will unearth facts which will help shape the plan not the other way around. Considering they are permie and I am a contractor, how do I manage this situation. Thank you in advance.
