Did you or any of your colleague ever took a silent exit?

There was a guy in our team who was in this company for 6+ years. It was his first company. But since he joined this team he became very quiet and socially withdrawn. The team had very poor culture and high attrition. He Stopped attending any office events.

On his last working day, he simply packed his bag and left. Let alone all the fake farewell speech, and cake cutting. Not even a goodbye. We all got to know the next morning.

I think such a silent exit speaks more than an angry frustrated fight back.
