Should I keep supplementing?

In early December 2025 I was found to have iron deficiency without anemia, ferritin 21. I have been taking 40mg iron bisglycinate on an empty stomach with 500mg vit c every morning since, and my levels have risen to 53.

My GP has said this is a good level and no further action is needed. I haven't ever had my iron or saturation tested so I'm unsure if continuing to supplement would be doing more harm than good- does anyone have any advice? I would like to get my levels closer to 100 but don't want to be harming myself.
