Looking for a book I read online in 5th grade during Covid (2019-2020). Historical fiction, set in the 1800s (possibly American South), no electronics. Girl protagonist (white, I think) is staying with another family for some reason — maybe she ran away. One scene I remember clearly: they eat chicken and waffles for dinner, and no one talks — it’s completely silent at the table. It was a novel but not super long, read for school. PLS HELP
