2nd surgery on opposite shoulder

I had a labral tear in my right shoulder and had surgery. I eventually recovered and got back to 100% and was able to work out and play basketball again.
About 6 months after being cleared, I played basketball for the first time again. A friend threw a bad pass and I reached across my body to catch it. I immediately felt a pull around my chest/left shoulder. Since then, my left shoulder has felt unstable, with aching, clicking/thumping, and a feeling that it moves too far when I let my arm hang. I’ve also had pain around my neck/upper back and have been pretty anxious about the whole thing.
It’s been about 2 months. I’m doing PT for 6 weeks and my orthopedic surgeon plans to consider an MRA if I’m still having problems. My symptoms feel very similar to what I experienced with my right labral tear, which is what scares me.
I’m especially struggling . I just wanted to be able to work out and play basketball again, and now I’m worried I might need surgery on both shoulders within a year.
For anyone who has had labrum surgery on both shoulders:
How did your second surgery/recovery compare with the first?
Did you eventually get back to lifting and playing sports?
How long until you felt normal again?
Did having both shoulders operated on affect your long-term life?
If you had symptoms but ended up NOT needing surgery, what did your recovery look like?

Shoulder clicking/looseness when arm dangles + daily trap/scapula pain sitting — curious what people think

**•**	When I bend over and let my arm hang, then pull it back, I get a small click every time — 100% reproducible
**•**	Shoulder feels looser than before, especially dangling and even sometimes walking
**•**	No clicking during arm circles though
**•**	Daily pain in my trap/shoulder blade area, especially after sitting for long periods (I sit \~8 hrs/day for work)
**•**	Occasional numbness
**•**	Had one night of pretty bad nerve pain full body
**•**	Can do push-ups with zero pain, PT exercises also feel fine/no pain
**•**	Doctor’s plan: 6 weeks of PT, then MRA if not resolved

No major trauma, no fall, no dislocation — just that one reaching motion. Anyone dealt with something similar? Curious whether this sounds more like a minor strain/postural nerve irritation thing vs. something that needs to get scanned sooner. Not looking to replace my doctor’s plan, just curious what others’ experience has been with similar symptoms.

Loose left shoulder when dangling (no clicking), but felt chest pull reaching for a basketball. History of right shoulder collision surgery. What is this injury?

Hey everyone, looking for some advice from anyone with naturally loose joints or a history of bilateral shoulder issues.
For context, I previously had labrum surgery on my right shoulder following a **collision injury**, which is now fully recovered.
**Three weeks ago**, I was playing basketball and **reached across my body**, where I felt a distinct **pull in my left chest**. Since that event, my left shoulder has felt incredibly loose. Whenever I let my left arm dangle at my side, it feels like the joint physically moves and drops down too far forward. However, when I lift my arm out to the side and do big arm circles, there is **zero clicking, popping, or catching**—the movement is smooth, it just feels unstable when relaxed. For those who have experienced this:
Does this sound like multidirectional instability (MDI) with a secondary pectoralis strain from 3 weeks ago, rather than a fresh labrum tear like my right side had?
If you had a shoulder that shifted when dangling and a chest pull but no joint clicking, did physical therapy fix it, or did you end up needing a capsular shift surgery?
