Designing a knife that has a complex opening mechanism, need help with parts, and tips for improving/helping the design along.

I'm designing a EDC knife that operates like a twistable pen. I have the basic way the operating mechanism should work down, but I am having small kinks and issues that need to be worked out, the penknife operates as so: a telescoping threaded shaft is connected to a carrying block holding the blade Via a cavity in the back of the carrying block, which retains the shaft but allows it to freely push and pull the carrying block up and down a track linked with a pin into a locked open, or closed position. (kind of like a mix between a stick glue or lip balm and a bolt action pen.) majority of the issues I am running into are with the shaft and telescoping mechanism itself. I want to design the shaft operate quickly and not have to do long twists into the open or closed position, I'm assuming that if I want it to be a quick action, that I'd need to custom design the threads, or cast a custom part, but my issue is that I'm not an engineer, so I don't know how much of an angle or threads I'd need. my plan is to make the full design and build about 7 inches long with about a 2-3 inch blade not too much bigger than a normal pen, I'd appreciate any input and help with my project, and if anyone would like a visualization I'd be happy to provide one, thank you!
