Setup Upgrade

My panther chameleon is turning 6 months this week and he’s getting an upgrade. After spending nearly $2k, I finally got all the supplies and live plants and started the build.

Plants: ficus tree, umbrella tree, 6 different species of pothos, plus ground cover.

Substrate: Biodude terra firma

Drainage layer: Hydroton clay pellets, installing a tubing system so I can siphon water out.

I have 2,000 springtails and 100 isopods that will go in the substrate.

All of this in a ReptiZoo 48x24x48 Extra Huge. To mitigate the poor airflow I have a fan that will gently push air upward

Background is cork bark tiles that were sealed to the back. I am also using pond spray foam to seal in the cracks and side areas to make everything flush.

The bottom is a 48x24 glass that can hold 10” of water (about 50 gallons)

I got a bunch of different branches (grapewood, dragon wood, manzanita, dried jungle vines) that I am going to make a highway of branches at varying levels.

I will weave the pothos and force their grown around everything.

Is there anything else recommends? The glass tank is rated for 500+ lbs (based on water weight if I used it as a water bin), the stand it’s on is weighted for 500lbs as well.

Reptizoo 48x24x48

I bought a reptizoo 48x24x48 enclosure and I realize it probably does not have sufficient ventilation to avoid respiratory issues.

I live in a very dry climate (about 10-30% humidity on average outside) and it’s even drier in my home due to the central AC/heat running.

I currently have a hybrid (2 side mesh/2 side shower curtain) and even then it’s nearly impossible to hit the required humidity daily even if I mist constantly or run a fogger constantly. The only good humidity (70%+) is at night with the fogger running non-stop.

In order to mitigate the air flow, I was going to install 1 small computer fan sucking air out of the top, which should allow the enclosure to circulate air well, while keeping the humidity relatively stable.

The enclosure is going to be bioactive using cork bark tiles for the back glass and side glass panels (using biodude Terra firma for the soil + CUC/bioshots).

Will this be sufficient?

EDIT: forgot to mention it’s a panther chameleon
