Pakistani .NET Developer in Saudi Arabia — Is Australia Worth It?

Hi everyone,

I’m a software engineer from Pakistan, currently working in Saudi Arabia. I’m considering moving to Australia and exploring the Subclass 482 employer-sponsored pathway.

I’m an experienced .NET/C# developer with skills in ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, SQL Server, React, Azure, Docker, and CI/CD.

I’d appreciate advice from people familiar with the Australian visa/job market:

  • How realistic is it to get a 482-sponsored software engineering job from outside Australia?
  • Is there good demand for experienced .NET/C# developers?
  • Which companies or websites are best for finding genuine sponsorship opportunities?
  • Are there particular cities/states where software engineering sponsorship is more common?
  • Would you recommend targeting 482 sponsorship first, or considering 189/190/491 pathways instead?

I’m currently in a stable job in Saudi Arabia, so I want to understand the opportunities and risks before making the move.

Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Pakistani .NET Developer in Saudi Arabia — Is Australia Worth It?

Hi everyone,

I’m a software engineer from Pakistan working in Saudi Arabia. I’m looking at a potential move to Australia and would appreciate any advice.

I am an experienced .NET/C# developer with skills in ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, SQL Server, React, Azure, Docker and CI/CD.

What is like for .NET developers in Australia currently in terms of jobs?

Is it possible to get a job from outside of Australia with sponsorship?

What locations in Australia are the best for Software Engineers?

What are the real visa sponsorship jobs?

Are there .NET/Software engineer recruitment agencies out there who sponsor work visas?

Would you say Saudi Arabia to Australia is a good move?

Any advice from people who have made the move or are working in Australia on a sponsored visa would be appreciated.

Thanks!
