German medical student here. How and where can I provide the most value?
Hello everyone,
I‘m a third year medical student from 🇩🇪. In the last semester holidays, I travelled to Ukraine for the first time and spent 2 weeks there as a humanitarian volunteer (not really medical tho)
I plan on returning to Ukraine in the next semester holidays in summer, and I wish to volunteer somewhere, where I can provide the most help and value through my medical knowledge and skills.
I know I‘m not a full doctor as of now. Still, I have learned a lot and I continue to expand my knowledge daily, and it feels wrong to just sit in my comfort zone here and not do anything, when my presence and skills could prove useful to even one person in need, affected by this war.
It‘s my wish either way to provide emergency medical care in crisis regions as a doctor.
With this war going on, there must be something that I can do right now other than to wait till I finish medical school, or am I wrong?
