Debate: Can a solid-gold Omega Speedmaster really hang with Rolex & Patek?

Omega is usually seen as premium, but Rolex and Patek define ultra-luxury. This solid-gold Speedmaster pushes Omega into precious-metal territory, trying to compete with the traditional top-tier brands.

Some say Omega doesn’t have the same ultra-luxury legacy, so gold Speedmasters are just expensive mainstream luxury. Others argue that the Moonwatch heritage alone is enough to give these gold editions elite status.

What do you think — does a gold Speedmaster really deserve a spot in the ultra-luxury club?

Curious what watches everyone actually wears daily.

Out of all the watches I own, this is probably one of the least flashy ones.

No crazy colors, no diamonds, no complicated dial.

And yet… it somehow keeps ending up on my wrist almost every morning.

I think at some point you stop choosing watches just to impress people and start choosing the ones that genuinely feel good to wear.

Now I’m curious what everyone else actually wears daily.

Do your most-worn watches match your “dream watch” taste — or are they completely different too?

Is grey alligator more forgiving than black leather?

Black straps tend to show every little mark, while softer grey tones seem to hide wear much better.

It doesn’t make the leather any tougher, but it does make everyday scuffs a lot less noticeable.

That alone makes grey feel like a surprisingly practical choice for a watch you plan to wear often.
