Hey, I just started reading Marionette, the Laurent pov fanfiction on AO3 based on numerous recommendations here but I'm 40% in and I can't determine if it's really a good Laurent adaptation of the story?

He seems really soft in this fanfiction, overwhelmed with emotions but brooding like a teenage boy. He felt sorry during the Damen whipping scene, or even the one in the gardens with Ancel? He lays in bed a whole week, depressed? It is so not Laurent 😭 He seems a lot less clever and absolutely not in control of himself. Is the trilogy worth reading after all? The fist book is always the hardest to go through, it is a fact, but having such a mature Damen pov compared to a boyish Laurent pov seems odd.
