Strawberry mead question

My first mead is almost done (I think) but I’m thinking about what I might want to try next. I’ve decided to give strawberries a go, maybe even a spiced apple mead a few weeks after the strawberry if I can get my hands on another vessel, but that’s besides the point. I’ve been looking online throughout the day and keep getting mixed answers on how to make a strawberry mead, I know strawberries are very delicate fruits, and I don’t really wanna mess this up. Currently, I have a pound of strawberries that I’m going to cut up, Blanche, then put in a vacuum seal bag and freeze until I am ready to start the mead. I have a 1 gallon vessel, D47 yeast, and brew bags showing up in a few days. I guess my questions are.

  1. Do I need more strawberries?
  2. Do I add them at the beginning, or after a few weeks when fermentation starts to die-down.
  3. Should I try to find a different type of yeast.
  4. Should I use less honey than a normal mead because strawberries have sugar in them.

So I might have messed up…

I tried making my first mead the other day and it was going good at first. But the amount of bubbles it was making has dropped, and I’m starting to wonder if I made a mistake and added too much honey.

It’s a 1 gallon batch and I think I used 3.5~ pounds of honey. I guess my question is should I be worried about it? It’s been going for about 9 days now and it’s still fermenting.
