I did it!!
I got a position that I’ve been wanting for years, at a school closer to home. This school also has several people there (one in admin) who I’ve worked closely with, and will go to bat for me on anything. Just knowing that I have support somewhere, makes me feel so much better.
I finally get to tell my principal who does not appreciate me, plays favorites, and only recognizes me when I make a mistake that I am GONE.. I am LEAVING!!!! To the man who does not keep his word, back pedals, yells at staff (me) when they don’t do something he didn’t even ask for, GOOD BYE.
To the kids I’m leaving behind, just know that you have to go where you’re appreciated. I love you guys, you’re going to do great things. I will still be cheering you on forever. Just know that I am not leaving YOU, I am leaving a place where I am not seen.
I feel like I can breathe again. 3 years of going through shit, is done.
PS: yes, I know, that there is no perfect school/admin/job, but I know when I’m not wanted, and I refuse to stay there. I genuinely feel like I’ve been in an abusive relationship for 3 years.
