Hi ! Firstly sorry for my english (i'm not fluent yet, still working on it) , i'm a biology student in France.

Between my studies and my time as a photographer i had the chance to meet a bunch of species, and always tried to identifies them (with inaturalist, or by myself if possible). And would like to use a sort of local phylogenetic tree, a place/site/ app to stock pictures/ infos of species with the full tree, and complete it slowly.

But i don't really know where to do that, i tried obsidian (since it's really visual with the graph view) but it take so much time, i have to create every branch/ tag them to have the link between them and create à specific folder for each to have something somehow organized.

Any idea on how i should proceed ?

I started photography 4 months ago with a canon 600d, a 24mm f/2.8 and a 18-55 f/3.5-5.6.

It was just to test since i was not sure to like photography at first (the full set was at 300 euros).

But i feel kinda stuck with this gear, i really like animal photography , astrophotography and landscape. I could just buy better lens (especially for wildlife photography, 55mm feel really short) but I don't want to invest in the Canon EF.

What would you recommend for the moment, trying to get a sony a7 ii (as a transition body, to be able to buy E-mount lens ? Or going directly on a sony a7 iii (or sony a7r III, might be better for wildlife photography?) ? I don't know for the moment if the upgrade between the sony a7 ii and iii is worth the money, or if i'm still a bit too "new" to notice a difference.

Bonjour, je viens demander conseil et avoir quelques témoignages d'étudiant actuel ou d'ancien étudiant.
J'ai obtenu mon bac il y a 3 ans et me suis de suite lancé dans une L1 en sciences de la vie (sans idée de ce que j'allais faire) j'ai très très peu bossé et m'en suis sorti avec un très médiocre 11 de moyenne. Suite à cela j'ai essayé de concrétisé mon projet, et ai décidé de m'orienter vers la recherche en bio marine (ça reste très très flou mais j'avais quand même un début de piste), j'ai donc filé à Brest et la ce fut une décente aux enfer, j'ai commencé à sortir de moins en moins de mon 9m² au crous, à jouer de plus en plus aux jeux, manger de moins en moins bien jusqu'à complètement abandonner et rentrer chez mes parents. Une année désastreuse, qui m'aura couté cher niveau temps, argent et santé. Une fois rentré chez moi il m'a fallu plusieurs mois pour re apprendre à vivre "normalement". J'ai ensuite voulu me lancer en musicologie pour "reprendre la fac tranquillement sans aller directement en bio" ce qui est après coup une très mauvaise idée. Je suis retombé en dépression et ai abandonné à nouveau la fac, j'ai été suivi par une psy universitaire, et ai commencé à travailler à mcdo à temps partiel.

On est maintenant en juin 2026, et je suis dans une genre d'impasse financière, psychologique et universitaire. Financière parce que j'ai 0 de côté, j'ai voulu déménager suite à l'obtention de mon contrat, (mon ancien logement étant insalubre), mais le loyer est nettement plus cher et ne me permet pas de mettre de l'argent de côté, comment faire pour cette année ?

J'avais en option de retourner en L2 bio, d'essayer de faire une demande d'ASAA (je remplis techniquement les critères) et me trouver un emploi en 15h/semaine, mais ça me parait tellement peu fiable, si je reçois un refus ou ne trouve pas de travail je suis complètement coincé.

Ou alors de demander une césure (je n'ai pour le moment aucune idée de comment faire pour en demander une) et juste aller travailler en temps plein en vivant chez mes parents pour reprendre l'université l'année prochaine en étant vraiment préparé (ce serait l'occasion de passer le permis, développer un peu mes hobbys et améliorer mes habitudes de vie).

Des gens ont déjà été dans une situation un peu similaire ? Vous auriez des conseils ? A partir de quand il vaut mieux juste abandonner la fac et se trouver un travail fixe si ça marche pas ?

I started photography 2 months ago when i bought a canon 600d with 2 lens, a 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 and a 24mm f/2.8 (for around 300 euros (349.9 dollars). I really have a bunch of fun with it and tried a lot of thing, but feel a bit stuck at this point especially in term of post processing. I caught myself really enjoying astrophotography and animal photography. I'm a bit lost on how to take good picture of "shy" animals, they seem to run away before i even start taking my camera in hand, the only thing i could take was some cat and swan. And even for these one i don't feel like my photo are good, something seem off. For astrophotography i'm completly lost, my photos are really far from what i would like to see, i tried to do a bit of stacking but could'nt work with it cause of the tree (took 170 picture of 13", iso 1600 and 70 darks). (the green picture, on this one i only stacked 30 picture of the170, but as you can see the tree mess with the gradient and everything else, i have not idea how to work around that).

How to improve ? And how to "really" start, i didn't really learned much in 2 month, only had fun with my camera without thinking much about it. Is there some youtube channel i can check ?

some exemples and my failed astrophotography

J'ai récemment amménagé dans un petit studio (20m² balcon inclus) en pleine milieu d'une grande ville. Cela fait plusieurs années que j'avais en tête l'idée d'adopter un chat, mais ça ne s'est jamais fais étant donné que je vivais dans des chambres de bonnes (c'était déjà dur à vivre alors je pouvais pas imposer ça à un autre être vivant). Je suis donc arrivé dans mon logement, j'ai commencé à mesurer, préparer des plans, notamment la mise en place d'un gros filet de sécurité au niveau du balcon pour lui laisser ces 3m² d'espace en plus, aménager un placard intramural pour lui laisser un endroit en hauteur pour se cacher si nécessaire. Percer des étagères sur une grosse partie des murs pour lui permettre de faire le tour de la pièce sans toucher le sol (et donc de gagner des m² effectifs pour lui) et bien entendu un arbre à chat/litière x2 et coin nourriture. Je songeais aussi à essayer de l'habituer dès son arrivé aux sacs de transport et au harnais pour le laisser se défouler, étant photographe je me balade souvent dans des endroits calmes en pleine nature (même si je m'attendais plutôt à le suivre, qu'à le "promener").

Mais je me retrouve un peu face à un mur face aux aso, la spa est catégorique ici, si j'ai pas un 40m² je peux oublier cette idée. J'avais pourtant cru que c'était possible, connaissant beaucoup de gens qui l'ont fait, est ce juste une mauvaise idée un peu trop généralisé ou la spa ont des critères trop stricts ?

Je suis pas têtu à ce point et si l'idée est vraiment mauvaise je reporterais le projet à dans plusieurs années même si ça m'attriste.

(sorry for my english, i'm not fluent) Hi, i'm a student in a huge city in France looking to start electric skateboard, but since it's such a rare hobby i'm kinda lost and at most have seen 3/4 peoples with one.

Firstly, on the vast majority of electric longboard i've seen online there is a weight limit of 90-100, is there some special one for more ? I weight around 120 kg (264 pouds) for 195cm, and most of the time carry a full bag weighing 10 kg.

Secondly can you use these outside of city ? On road/ Forest ? I'm a photographer, being able to get to the forest like i use to with a bike would be nice. I've seen some type of wheel for all terrain (cloudwheel i think)

What budget should i invest ? I'm not rich, but i don't want to die in an accident for buying something cheap, and i have to keep some money for protection (again don't want to die).

Talking about protection, what gear are you guy using ? Are we closer to the gear of a skater or a biker ?

And lastly, how to test ? Using a tradi longboard for a time would simulate the sensation of an electric one ? Just to know if i really like the feeling. (i've already done a bunch of thing somehow similar (i think) snowboard/waveboard/surf ...)
