My Beef With The Dino
Kind of a rant so yeah…
I would like to start by saying I’ve been playing Rivals since the beginning and I’m a diehard flex. With that being said, the dino has a lot going on and should be (imo) be hot fixed. Let’s start with the obvious stuff:
He has melee and a kidnap ability. Good luck if you are melee/tank because he can snatch you up for a mid battle snack, bleed you, and send your scraps to the backline to finish you off (if you don’t die/ or can’t escape fast enough
He has range plus a knock down. Unless you’re flying halfway across the map, he’ll just shoot you down and then snack on you. Or if you’re really unlucky, he’ll snatch you from the heavens and THEN have you for a snack
He has a limited capacity for displacement. You’re not knocking him up. You could grab him with Emma but then you’re down a really useful cooldown for a while. Theres really not moving or bounding him to any one area outside of ults.
His abilities have bleed, slowdown, knockdown, and overhealth attached to him. Just for when you thought that having him 1 hp was enough.
Do I think he’s OP? Yes and here’s why: I don’t think teamplay was fully considered when building this character. So many people say to just swap to poke and he dies. But he’s easier the most oppressive in most team fights and there’s still 5 other enemies to pay attention to. He’s quite the bullet sponge and he reduced headshot and in those few seconds you divert your attention to someone diving you or your supports, he’s full again. And for whatever reason, that was not enough. Because he also has a shield that not only protects a wide range, it blocks the primary heals of most supports for those inside that bubble. So while you try to hopeless heal that tank in that bubble, your shots just fall flat.
It’s not fun and honestly he’s not hard to pick up. It’s been an insufferable few days and I don’t rock with the dino
And I don’t always wanna play poke and yet I feel like myself and at least some other players have been forced into the role. I’d like to hear you guys’ thoughts, arguments, tips, heck if you wanna get on your soapbox you can do that too.
