I'm a female traveling to PR together with my 3 (almost 4) year old son for 3 weeks in July. It's the first time visiting PR and we are going there because we love beaches, island vibe and a relaxed holiday. We are starting in San Juan and then???? Any suggestions, tips for an itinerary? I'm a single mama traveling on a budget, so no resorts or fancy hotels.

And yes we are planning on renting a car when we leave San Juan to explore the island - but where to go?
