1973 Corris Rivett SLX [FOR SALE]

A high-performance engine (125 horsepower, dual-chamber carburetor, and long exhaust manifold), a rear axle with a 3.44 final drive ratio and an LSD, a tachometer and a sport steering wheel, sport wheels, and a gorgeous color scheme! Friends, this is one of the rarest configurations of this car model. I’m very happy to have been lucky enough to own such a car, and you, too, can become the owner of this little gem. The car was professionally restored by a local Finnish enthusiast, transforming it from a rusty shell into a museum-quality exhibit. All of the car’s parts are original; the body was professionally repainted by a master painter; and the engine is in excellent condition and built from new parts. The suspension is completely standard for this model and is best suited for driving on highways and autobahns, but nothing creaks or falls off; there may be slight squeaks from the springs and shock absorbers. The body has no dents, but the underbody is already starting to rust. The interior is slightly worn by time but is still beautiful and pleasant. Features include cabin heating, an analog radio, and a hazard light switch; there is no rear window defroster (a grille is installed). The car has a 4-speed manual transmission, which is also original and works well. Friends, if you’re ready to take care of this little gem, you can buy it for $32,450. Prices are negotiable, and I can offer some extras.

My second completely honest playthrough

This is my second completely honest playthrough and car build. I’d estimate that I built the Corris Rivett 90% honestly, because I didn’t physically work at the Futofon factory (though I did get a job there and received a salary), and I obtained the necessary left door using cheats. Nevertheless, I don’t want to—and shouldn’t—make excuses; I just want to share my achievement. However, I didn’t show up for work because I repeatedly encountered incorrect tracking of my hours worked (the card reader often recorded far fewer hours than I actually worked), and I had repeatedly tried to obtain the left door by ordering parts that included it, but after several attempts, I was unable to get the pre-facelift version with chrome. Otherwise, the entire amount (40,000 Finnish marks) was earned through honest labor—delivering firewood, pumping out septic tanks, and my salary. Initially, I wanted an SLX in Spring Green + All Black, but I ended up with classic blue (E-Blue). Of course, I would have preferred Navy Blue or Dark Navy, but regular blue is also a nice, classic combination. In addition to the standard inspection, I immediately had a historical check done to verify the VIN number. What do you think of my Rivett? Feel free to share any configurations you have—I’d love to take a look at them.

Do I feel especially lucky today?

Do I feel especially lucky today? This morning, luck finally smiled on me, and I don't think I have any superiority over anyone, but today I really did get lucky. Finally, my dream came true, and I honestly got the coveted combination of Royal Red + Black Roof and Interior. On top of that, the equipment of this particular configuration is one of the best in the game. You can also share your finds, and I’d be happy to check any of them out.

Passed the regular and historical inspection at once.

I just built another Rivett. I'd love to get the Royal Red trim with a black vinyl roof and interior, but the brown also looks very expensive and authentic. Apparently, the brown in the game is the copper-brown color of the real Ford Taunus TC. Despite the lack of a heavy-duty engine, tachometer, and Rostyle wheels, this configuration does have heavy-duty suspension, a heavy-duty brake master cylinder, and a rear axle with a differential lock. And, as a nice and rare bonus, an automatic transmission. What do you think of my Rivett?

Problem with Auto transmission

What the hell is wrong with this game? Why does it break for no apparent reason? Why won't my automatic transmission shifter shift anywhere, even though everything worked fine before I removed the transmission and tuned it? I'm 100% sure everything is installed and bolted down, all the fluids are filled (including the automatic transmission fluid), but when I press the brake pedal, the shifter gets stuck in Parking and simply won't shift anywhere.

Manual or Auto transmission?

Which transmission do you prefer: manual or automatic, and why? Personally, I’d go with the automatic for its smoothness and cruising feel. Yes, the automatic transmission in the game isn’t fully realized, but I really like that “American car” feel, which the Rivett resembles so much. This makes sense, since the designers of the first-generation Ford Taunus TC used a “Coke bottle” body shape (though not as aggressively as on American muscle cars, but still noticeable), a Knudsen nose, and a long hood with a short rear. Overall, I like the automatic transmission, but it loses out to the manual in terms of dynamics due to the smaller number of gears, and there’s no tuning available for the automatic, unlike the manual. On the other hand, the automatic doesn’t require maintenance of the clutch basket or clutch cable.

Rate my new Rivett

This is my third playthrough, and my third Rivett. I've always wanted to get the pre-facelift trim level, specifically the black vinyl roof and interior, and after over a hundred attempts at starting a new game, I finally got what I wanted. What's more, I'm especially pleased with the relatively rare equipment configuration and the perfect paint color according to the VIN (67% desirability and a "Rare Find" rating in MWCDatabase). I don't mean to brag, but I truly feel lucky. How do you like my Rivett? Share your Rivetts, and I'd love to see them.
