I was very impressed with Coco’s soap - it lathered up quickly and had plenty of cushion and glide. A real pleasure. I will definitely be using it again.
The .84 plate on the GC was unsurprisingly more efficient than the previous .76 and did a great job with just 2 passes. There was more blade feel but certainly not to an excessive degree.
The C&H brush was lovely and soft. A beautiful tool.

Superb shave today. I woke up super early so I wanted a coffee scent to get me going.
A buddy of mine was able to attend the Lathered Expo in Brooklyn last month and he picked this up for me. I snagged the splash online to complete the set. The new Ultima2 base is really wonderful, slickness and cushion galore. The scent is also fantastic - and a welcome departure from my August super mentholated shaves!
As always, the Blackbird gave a smooth and effortless shave. Two passes were all that was required for near BBS.

After 31 days of the same kit, it is a pleasure to try something new. Using the Slim felt like I had training won on comparison to the MMOC. Despite nearly no blade feel, all I needed was 2 passes for a near BBS. An excellent shave.

Palm stropping seems to do the trick for now. I was able to get a close shave after 3 passes and some touch ups. No irritation or alum feedback.
The soap has enough to finish the month but I used more than I thought I would. For the first week the brush ate the soap fast and I also took two smushes out. It now looks - appropriately - like a receding glacier!

Shower shaving during Arctic August has given rise to another issue: Glacial soap with additional Frost drops are rather brisk to other parts when they rinse off my face!

Excellent last “land shave” before we get on the ship for our Alaskan cruise. The brush is soft, the razor sings, the lather is smooth. Unless I start sensing some major fall off in blade performance, the rest of the month looks very doable.
12 Frost drops today - tbh it seems a bit colder than when I hit 6 but not twice as much. I wonder if there is a “max” to how cold this will feel. Time will tell!
