Thought I heard a Breaker Trip and now my A/C and Heater won't turn on

Hello, I made a post a couple days ago about my AC short cycling and then not working and my Nest Thermostat saying no power.

Well it was likely short cycling due to the lack on C wire with our Nest thermostat despite having been installed since 2019.

I'll link the post here https://www.reddit.com/r/hvacadvice/s/VnGBpH0fVJ

Well I put the old thermostat back on and it still wasn't working but only the A/C the heater was fine. I called our apartment maintenance and they came and replaced the transformer. And it worked again.

Just to test I put the nest thermostat back on and it was still short cycling so I took it back off until I can get a power connector. That was 9 days ago, and the A/C has worked fine with the original thermostat since.

Well tonight I was sitting on my patio and I heard what I thought was a breaker tripping, it happens all the time if you use too much in the kitchen at once the building is ancient and after 10 years I'm used to it, so I don't think much of it and I go to flip whichever one tripped but there were no tripped breakers. But now the A/C won't turn on again except now the heater won't turn on either.

I flipped all the breakers to off and all of them back on. (The box isn't labeled very well so it's a guessing game for a lot of things, so I just wanted to be sure.)

Google says maybe some kind of safety switch but I don't see any. I'll post all the pictures from the original post. And the label on the new transformer. (I had taken the wires off while looking at it, that's why they aren't on in the photo) I'll be calling maintenance in the morning, Any ideas it's 3 am and the apartment is roasting.

So I've had my Nest thermostat since 2021 recently our AC started coming on and then shutting off after like a minute and then coming on again. But not the heater, only the AC. I tried to switch it back to our old thermostat (we rent so we had to save it) to see if it would still happen but the person who installed it didn't take a picture of the wiring on the old one so I couldn't get it to work. There's a Red (R) Blue (Y1) Green (unlabeled) and a whiteish Wire also unlabeled.

When I took my Nest thermostat off I took a picture (Attached) but the old thermostat didn't match up with those assignments. And didn't turn on.

So I went to put the Google one back on and put it back together exactly the same but now it won't work, is says no power and I keep getting Error E298.

I had the breaker off while I did all this. Google keeps saying it's because I don't have a C wire but I havent had one in the years our thermostat has functioned just fine.

Help?
