Carpet beetle? Or other bug?
So I in Illinois and spotted this little bug five days ago in my home. I live in a mostly dimly lit basement except when I’m cleaning weekly and that’s how I can across this bug. It started when I left my window cracked open to get some fresh air, then during one of cleaning days I spotted a redish looking worm when vacuuming my rug that I have for my bean bag. I immediately. After I washed and dried the rug I didn’t see no other insects so I put it back down on the floor and decided to buy some DE just in case.
Afterwards I decided to do some research and that’s when I can across this Reddit with similar results of the bug I found in the picture. Yesterday I treated my rug, couch, and bean bag cover with the DE just in case that it is a carpet beetle.
