[Research] Thoughts on upcycled forestry waste as a "natural retinol" alternative?

I just saw a launch for a new "Skin Booster Serum" that claims to be the first to use RedOil by ÄIO.
It’s essentially a lipid created through the fermentation of organic wood/forest industry side streams. The claims are pretty bold: strong cell-renewal properties (like a gentle retinol) but mixed with the barrier-repair benefits of a rich oil.
Obviously, the sustainability angle of turning wood waste into clean skincare is amazing, but how does it actually perform on the skin? Does anyone have experience with fermented oils or biotech ingredients like this? Is it worth the hype?

I’m running a large-scale experiment to understand how AI (like ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) actually decides which webshops to recommend.

Right now I’m focusing on the skincare niche, and the patterns are already pretty interesting. Some brands I’m familiar with are completely ignored, while others (that seem to approach things a bit differently on a technical level) consistently get recommended.

I’ve been keeping a detailed log of all my tests (see screenshot from today).

I’m planning to use the results soon to help make smaller webshops more visible using CANNS.

If you’re interested in being included in the testing, feel free to send me a message.
