Thanks to this subreddit’s help earlier today, I was able to connect the piping between my garbage disposal and the p-trap.

I’m now struggling with the seal between (1) the black tube coming out of the garbage disposal, and (2) the p-trap. When I turn the disposal on, water bubbles up a little in the small gap between the tubes. Am I missing a part?

I’m also now getting a drain error from my dishwasher. Not sure if I reconnected something wrong but any ideas would be appreciated.

I just replaced a broken kitchen garbage disposal and despite purchasing the same brand, the piping for the new disposal didn’t line up with what was under my kitchen sink. I asked for advice at the hardware store, and so far, I’ve managed to essentially recreate the problem that already existed. Any suggestions for what piping to purchase/what to do so that I can get piping that small horizontal distance would be greatly appreciated. Note that this is my first attempted DIY plumbing project! 😅
