AAT2265 - Front fans causing vibrations at certain RPMs
TL;DR: My high-end Alienware (AAT2265/9950X3D2/5090) is producing significant vibrations from the front 180mm fans around 45-55% RPM. Dell replaced the fans (no fix) and told me to "put the PC under the desk" as a workaround. Is this normal or do I have a lemon?

Hey everyone, I’m trying to figure out if I have a "lemon" or if this is just how these systems are built.
I just bought a fully-kitted AAT2265 with a 9950X3D2, 5090, the whole 9 yards. Everything in the system is working great, except for the front two 180mm fans.
I’ve been dealing with a significant vibration/resonance issue. At certain fan speeds (in the range of 45%-55% as reported by AWCC), the fans physically vibrate. The vibration can be intense enough that it’s physically palpable through the case and actually causes my solid maple desk that it is sitting on to vibrate; I can feel it as my hands rest on the desk.
As soon as the fans move out of that RPM range, they sound just fine and stop vibrating. It's very clearly some kind of resonance frequency they are hitting that is being amplified by the fan enclosure and the case.
These are the only fans that I have an issue with; the other fans sound fine and don't cause any issue, at least from what I have noticed over the past week of ownership.
I’ve spent the better part of a week with Dell Support. Here is the timeline so far:
- Provided recordings of the vibration.
- Ran all log collectors and ePSA diagnostics (all passed).
- Had the fans completely replaced (no improvement / no change).
- Confirmed the issue happens at baseline speeds and power profiles ("Quiet" and "Balanced"), not just under heavy load.
After all this, Dell Support's official stance is that the system is "working as designed" and their suggested "workaround" is to move the PC under my desk or to a different surface to minimize the perceived vibrations.
I find it hard to believe that a premium Alienware system is "designed" to shake the furniture it sits on. Is anyone else experiencing this? It seems silly to be in a position of considering sending the system back over shoddy fans, especially considering everything else is working just fine.
