not eligible for aid, might be on probation. what now????
so i failed out of a lab i had because i didn’t know there was an attendance requirement. i was already barely scraping by so that + my poor performance in other classes has made my gpa a 1.83. i just got the email today that i am no longer meeting SAP requirements and that i am not eligible for financial aid next year.
i’m kind of freaking out and my advisor is not available to meet until june… i’ll admit that i didn’t really have a good understanding of what would happen if my gpa dropped, i just thought that i would be put on probation, the credits i could take would be capped, and i knew i would lose the scholarship i got from tech since it required a 3+ gpa. i have not gotten any type of email that explicitly tells me i’m on probation so idk… is there a way to check on hokiespa? it’s embarrassing but it really never occurred to me that i could lose all of my aid
i would be grateful for any advice on what my next steps should be 🙏 am i able to take classes this summer and transfer them to boost my gpa? i am also considering getting evaluated for adhd (or other learning disability); i always suspected i had something and have struggled with focus and time management. it just didn’t seem to affect me much in highschool but now idk if it might be a factor in my lack of ability to do anything
