Feels way harder to build SaaS or tooling products these days compared to before

Back before AI, even putting together a simple website had a decent learning curve if you didn’t have a technical background. Now AI has completely torn down the technical barriers. People with zero dev experience are flooding into the space, and honestly they understand traffic, users and business models way better.

They can land on Google’s front page just by doing solid keyword research. Even plain text-heavy sites pull tons of traffic and stack up ads easily. Their so-called tools are basically just AI wrappers, yet they still grab users and even get people to pay.

It’s gotten so much tougher for folks with actual technical skills. These days, indie creators end up spending over 70% of their time on market and product research, while less than 10% goes into actual technical implementation.
