What do I tell my manager when I’ve been off work for 2 weeks?
Please bear with me I’ve got the cold and can’t think straight.
So my role is targets driven and over the years there’s been changes and targets increased gradually over the years.
I am job hunting but the purpose of this post is, I’ve called in sick this week, role covers some weekend shifts and I’m planning to go on sick for next week when I have a week booked off holiday. This was planned months ago. I’m feeling burnt out from my job and this cold has been coming for weeks, reason why I want my sickness to cover my annual leave is to selfishly save it for the rest of this year.
I’m someone that honest and truthful so it’s difficult for me to tell a lie.
Should I just use my holiday and go on sick for the week or can I simply say it took longer to recover?
What should I say exactly? I know I need to be confident when I say it to my manager.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: I’m on day 2 for being sick. I was on long term sick and returned last year June/July, this is my very first time calling in sick since.
