Anyone around Swanley/Kent interested in a romance & romantasy book club? 📚💕

Hi! I’ve been trying to find a small local book club that focuses more on romance/romantasy, but couldn’t quite find one that felt like the right fit.

So I’ve decided to start one myself! 🙂

I’m calling it The Bookish Bunch — a small, relaxed group around Swanley and the surrounding Kent area.

We’d read one book a month and meet up somewhere local for drinks, book chat, fictional-man discussions and generally good vibes.

Romance, romantasy, fantasy romance, sports romance, dark romance, spicy books etc. all welcome.

I’m currently looking for our first founding members. If anyone is interested, I’ve made a very short form to see if there’s enough interest:

I’d love to hear from anyone who thinks this sounds like their kind of thing! ❤️

Research into whether readers would attend a “BookCamp” retreat 📚

Hi everyone,

I’m an avid reader based in the UK and I’ve recently started exploring an idea for a weekend retreat designed specifically for book lovers. Before investing any time or money into it, I’d love to hear honest opinions from fellow readers to find out whether this is something people would genuinely be interested in.

The idea is a cosy weekend where readers could escape everyday life and enjoy things like:

  • 📚 Dedicated reading time
  • 🏡 Comfortable countryside accommodation
  • ☕ Coffee, tea and cosy reading spaces
  • 💬 Optional book discussions and meeting other readers
  • 🎨 Book-themed activities and workshops
  • 🌙 Relaxed evenings and a peaceful atmosphere

I’m not promoting a business or selling tickets—this is simply early research to understand whether there’s genuine interest and what readers would actually want from an experience like this.

If you’d be willing to help, I’d really appreciate your thoughts on a few questions:

  1. Would you ever consider attending something like this?
  2. What would make it worth booking?
  3. Would you prefer a day event or a weekend retreat?
  4. Would you attend alone or with friends?
  5. What price range would feel reasonable for a weekend?

Whether your answer is yes or no, your feedback would be incredibly valuable and will help me understand if this is an idea worth pursuing.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and thank you in advance to anyone who shares their thoughts.
