Winding down our custom entertainment sim build

My partner and I developed a custom simulation project that combines a physical rig and a custom game controls and game. We’re about halfway through the build, but due to local market constraints, we’ve mutually decided to wind things down.

We don't want to seeing the hardware prototype, CAD files, and code just sit on a shelf.

We are looking for advice so if you come from the sim space and have advice on handling an in progress build or if you're interested in hearing more details about what we built to see if it's relevant for you feel free to drop a comment or shoot me a DM.

Thanks for everything.

Shutting down our sim project mid development practical ways to sell or pass on what we built?

Hey everyone,

My partner and I have been building a project in the simulation and entertainment space, combining custom software with a dedicated physical rig. We’re about halfway through development, but we’ve mutually agreed to wind things down on great terms.

One of the factor was market size our local market is simply too small for this niche, while the real audience is clearly in larger markets like the US Taking it international ourselves isn't viable right now, but we’d hate to just let the code, designs, and hardware prototype sit on a shelf.

If you’ve ever had to shut down mid build, how did you handle it?

Is there a realistic way to sell or hand off the to another developer or team, or is it usually better to just part out the hardware and move on?

Would really appreciate any thoughts or lessons from experience. Happy to share more details in the comments.
