Finger tendon injury from overuse
I’ve been doing high-volume pull-ups almost daily for a while now, sometimes multiple sessions a day.
At first, I only noticed mild discomfort around my middle/index finger knuckle area after several sets of pull-ups or heavy gripping. I ignored it and kept training.
Now it seems to have progressed:
-I feel mild discomfort/pain when clenching my hand into a fist.. even w/o holding onto the bar
-lifting objects like a coffee mug by the handle can trigger discomfort or even just pressing a button on the remote
-Pain seems concentrated around the middle/index finger knuckle/tendon area
There wasn’t any single traumatic moment so it feels more like an overuse injury from repetitive gripping/pulling. There’s also no swelling etc, looks perfectly normal externally.
Has anyone experienced something similar? If so what helped recovery the most? Would appreciate any advice or shared experiences. I really want to pull again soon..
