I think I got extremely close to an OBE during sleep paralysis

I woke up in sleep paralysis this morning, and at first I was about to try to fully wake my body up. I had actually forgotten that I wanted to try astral projection.
Then, right before I moved, I suddenly remembered.
So instead of waking myself up, I decided to stay completely still and try to go deeper into the experience. I didn’t move my body at all. I just focused my mind on a single point, almost as if I was focusing on a light.
After a while, I suddenly started seeing flashes of light.
Then I began hearing a strange sound in both of my ears. It sounded almost like a frequency coming through speakers — a deep, fluctuating “vvvvvv” sound. It wasn’t exactly ringing; it felt more like an electrical/frequency-type sound that was changing in intensity.
Then the vibrations started.
I could feel vibrations moving through my entire body, and they became stronger. After that, I slowly started seeing images. At first they were faint and unclear, but they gradually became more vivid, and for a moment it felt like I was actually starting to see something.
And then… I got scared.
The fear immediately snapped me out of it and I felt myself return to my body.
I’ve experienced sleep paralysis before, but I’ve never intentionally stayed completely still and allowed it to progress like this. This was by far the closest I’ve ever felt to actually having an OBE.
For people who have experienced astral projection/OBEs: does this sound familiar? And was I actually at the point where I could have separated, or was this just another stage of sleep paralysis?

Found a technique that's been giving me consistent Astral Projections for the past two weeks

Hi guys, I've been experimenting with an older technique I came across and honestly it's become my killer method, so I wanted to share and see if it works for anyone else.

The basics: you close your eyes and bring your attention to the "trikuti', the point between your eyebrows. Then you picture a thin beam of white light there, and you move it back through your head to the base of your skull, and then forward again. You trace that path over and over, a little faster each time, like a current of light running through you.

I get to the paralysis stage so damn fast, and combined with WBTB it's on another level. Waking up after a few hours, staying up briefly, then lying back down and running this light technique has given me several projections over the last two weeks. Sometimes I even manage it right at the start of the night before fully falling asleep. And when it doesn't lead to a full projection, it often turns into a lucid dream instead, so it feels like a win either way.

Really curious if anyone else gets similar results with this, or something close to it. Hope it helps some of you too.
