I have my company 401K through vanguard. I wasn't paying much attention and thought they offered a Roth IRA but now realize it is a Roth 401k. I've been splitting my contributions monthly between those two.

Is there any reason I should open a Roth IRA over the Roth 401k provided under my employer plan? I've googled the differences and I'm not really sure if I'm missing out on a benefit from the Roth IRA.
