After all these years with glp1s, we are still not 100% sure what they do long term?
I read an article back in January that brought up something I have been thinking about a lot. What do we actually know about taking GLP-1s for years, and what is still up in the air? The reality is that we know a lot less than people want to admit.
We know that stalling out is completely normal. When your weight loss slows down, it is usually just your body getting used to being lighter, not the compound randomly failing. Your metabolism slows down with any weight loss method, even surgery.
But there is still a lot we do not know. We do not know if your body builds a real tolerance to these compounds over several years. We still are not entirely sure how they reach and affect the brain. We also do not really know the best way to mix them with other medications or the best way to maintain the weight loss long term after the initial progress.
Do you guys worry about the things we still do not know yet? Or do you just trust that the benefits we are seeing right now outweigh any potential risks down the line?
