Recorded & posted by stranger on YT and Instagram (Ireland)

Hi all. A few days ago, my boyfriend and I were at a food market ordering lunch and we chatted to the vendor for a few minutes, being friendly and answering the questions he was asking us. At the end of the interaction, as I was paying, he told us that he has an Instagram page and YouTube channel where he posts food content and interactions with customers, and said that he was also currently livestreaming. My boyfriend asked how he was recording us and (of course) he pointed to his glasses with enthusiasm. I instantly got an icky feeling because I no longer felt the interaction was genuine, and neither of us has Instagram or has ever posted ourselves on any other social media platform. So I feel especially uncomfortable with the idea of a stranger posting me for content, especially in the age of AI.

He didn't tell us his Instagram or YouTube username but I managed to find the account and there are indeed shorts posted of our interaction from the vendor's POV. I might not mind if there were only a few views but there are thousands plus a handful of comments. (A couple of which comment on my petite/skinny stature, implying that I need to bulk up. The vendor responded with a laughing emoji... Not that it matters, but I've wanted for years to gain weight and failed at it.. this is how I am built.)

So, I just feel uncomfortable with the situation. This may seem harmless to the average person, and I guess you could argue that these days we should operate under the assumption that we're being watched at all times. And I was in a public place. But honestly we just wanted lunch, not to be posted on social media.

Is it possible to report or file a complaint somehow? What would that entail or require? I don't want too much trouble but I would prefer for the video of us to be deleted. Location: Ireland
