Concrete truck cleaned out their truck on our property (acreage in TN) over a year ago but we just discovered it…
Location: Tennessee
We live on the side of a mountain in TN and our property goes up to a bluff. The neighbors on top of the bluff built a pool over a year ago (Spring 2025). We just discovered the concrete contractor cleaned out their truck over the bluff and dumped the remnants over the cliff onto our property. The concrete left a HUGE white streak down the rock and piles of concrete on our property. I would think this is against city and state laws, but I don’t even know where to start on who to contact—and if we can file a lawsuit to cover damages. Would love any advice you can give. Thank you!
Additional Context based on your great comments:
We did bring it up to the neighbors, and they apologized and said it was likely the contractors, but made it seem like they (as homeowners) were innocent and had zero responsibility in the situation.
We have not reached out to the contractors, because we weren’t sure if we needed to contact authorities first (and if it was EPA, police, etc) or get legal representation.
It is obvious from Google Earth pictures that the massive concrete stripe coincides with their pool installation timeline.
