Is it still vegan to decide on these career choices?
Hello! I am planning on majoring in biology. I am considering becoming a compounding pharmacist, medical technologist, or possibly taking on another job related to biology. I will not be pursuing careers directly testing on animals, but I know medication is tested on animals and many contain ingredients derived from animals. (I’d like to be a compounding pharmacist to offer alternatives whenever possible)
Is it still ethical to study a science where a large component of it is animal research? Does it contribute to harm if I am a pharmacist (as I won’t always be able to give out medication that is vegan)
Please let me know your thoughts. Additionally, if anyone knows how to get into direct research and development for alternatives to animal testing as much as possible, please let me know as well. I appreciate it.
